HR and Difficult People
It has often been said that running a fire district would be much easier without people or personalities involved. Unfortunately, both come with any organization. Most every business the size of your district will have an HR department or at least an HR Director. That person has a ton of training and knows how to deal with difficult people. In the fire service we often pass that role off to a Chief, President or member of the board to handle. More often than not, the assigned person has little if any HR experience. During this panel discussion we will look at some of the challenges fire districts face when dealing with personal and difficult situations. We will share some policies and plans that every fire district should consider to keep themselves and their members out of hot water.
Monday, December 14 @ 5:00pm

Most of us would agree that we pay a lot of money for our insurance. But what are we getting? Do we have the right coverages and values for our exposures? How do we decide which companies are the best fit for our district? What are the value added services that come with your policy? What incidents should we report and when? If you wait until after you have a claim to get these answers, it is probably too late. We are bringing together a panel of fire district insurance company representatives to answer your questions about coverages and offer suggestions on what to look for next time you are considering proposals.
How Does This Work?
How do I get my link for each session?
Once you've registered you will be listed to receive an email invitation approximately 1 week prior to each session you selected to attend. (every session of you selected to FULL registration). You will receive a reminder email (also containing a link) 24hours prior to the start of each session.
What happens if I'm not available for the date & time selected for a certain session?
Every session will be recorded with a link that is good for 30 days. So any registrant that is unable to attend the live session will have access to the video link so they can view it at their convenience.
If I decide to do a Fire District registration, Do I have to list Everyone's name and individual email?
Yes, this allows us to send email links to everyone listed on your registration.
Is this replacing Coffee with Commissioners
Absolutely not. Coffee with Commissioner has been quite popular and informative. Dave Denniston, Joe Frank and CwC will continue right along with the Virtual Fall Winter Educational Series
